Hector Christie is currently working with The Living Tradition on a cultural tourism project linking the music of Scotland with Galicia. This will be completed in 2009.
He is also working with the newspaper the “Mearns Leader” to produce a Travel Diary on a fortnightly basis, covering a motorhome journey through France and Spain to the Canary Islands and on a commission for South American Explorer magazine on the phenomenon of the Guanajuato mummies in Mexico.
Another commission for 2009 was given by “Scots Magazine” to publish his research into a little known episode of Scottish history, involving 19th Century Mexican/American War. This commission has been completed and is scheduled to appear in 2009.
The award winning ‘In the Paths of the Poets’ with co-author Roger Smith, former editor of The Great Outdoors (TGO) magazine.
Contributed the chapter ‘Sunset Song’ to the book ‘The Story of a Community’ (Chiefswood Publications, 2000)
He has been published in Nursing Times, Mirror, and Scottish Nurse, Direct Roots, The Living Tradition and Mature Times. Additional writing includes a two page foreword to The Vin Garbutt Songbook and sleeve notes for various music CDs.
